Many national sites will also list Vero Beach FL homes in "pre-foreclosure". These homes may not be for sale as the owner may be working on a "deed in lieu of foreclosure" with the lender. The "pre-foreclosure" homes may also be listed as a short sale - the owner still holds title and is still trying to sell before the final auction date.

Some sites will also list homes as foreclosures after the bank has filed a "lis pendens" - basically meaning they are several months behind on payments. The owner may cure the default or do nothing.
